ORDINANCE NO. 10581 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN UNNAMED STREET AND ALLEYWAY LOCATED NORTHEAST OF COVINGTON STREET, SOUTHEAST OF EAST 50TH STREET, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN. _______________________ SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby closed and abandoned an unnamed street and alleyway located northeast of Covington Street, southeast of East 50th Street, more particularly described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference: An unnamed and unopened right-of-way some 30 feet wide beginning on the northeast line of Covington Street 391 feet southeast of the intersection of the northeast line of Covington Street with the southeast line of East 50th Street, and extending northeast 392 feet to the northwest line of State Street. Said street separates lot 2, Resubdivision of Blocks 1 and 2, Boulevard Park Addition, as shown by plat of record in plat book 27, page 151, ROHC, from the Tennessee- Georgia state line. Tax Map No. 168P-J-9.1. A 10 foot wide unopened alleyway of which to find the true point of beginning, start on the northeast line of Covington Street 130 feet southeast of the intersection of the northeast line of Covington Street with the southeast line of East 50th Street, said point being the intersection of the northeast line of Covington Street with the northwest line of a 10 foot wide alleyway abandoned by City of Chattanooga Ordinance No. 2687, thence northeast 225 feet with the northwest line of said abandoned alleyway to the true point of beginning, thence continuing northeast 40 feet, thence at a 45B0 angle northeast some 7.2 feet to the southwest line of another 10 foot wide alleyway abandoned by said ordinance, thence southeast 20 feet with said alleyway, thence at a 45B0 angle northwest some 7.2 feet, thence southwest 40 feet, thence at a right angle northwest 10 feet to the true point of beginning. Said alleyway separates lot 6, block 2, from lot 17, block 2, Boulevard Park Addition, as shown by plat of record in plat book 5, page 50, ROHC. Tax Map No. 168P-J-9.1. SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as provided by law.
